SABER explained

PCoC and SCoC: two different steps

Understand the difference between product conformity and shipment certification when planning Saudi market entry.

The product stage

A Product Certificate of Conformity, commonly called a PCoC, concerns the product and its applicable conformity requirements. In SABER, product registration and product conformity certification are distinct services. The route must be checked against the product classification; not every product follows the same certification path.

The shipment stage

A Shipment Certificate of Conformity, commonly called an SCoC, relates to a shipment. SABER lists shipment certification separately from product conformity certification and imported self-declaration services. Treat shipment preparation as its own step rather than assuming that a product certificate completes the process.

Keep both stages in your plan

When discussing an upcoming shipment, share the product models, existing conformity documents and shipment details together. This helps establish what is already available and what still needs attention.

GoCertify can help organize the review and application follow-up. Before making shipping commitments, confirm the current route and required documentation for your specific products.

  • Identify the product and its applicable requirements.
  • Review the existing product documentation.
  • Prepare the information needed for the shipment stage.
