Start with the covered product and exact model
SASO’s Water Conservation Card service concerns sanitary tools covered by the relevant water-conservation regulation. It is not a label for every appliance that uses water. Check the product scope before arranging tests.
Make a model register with the supplier reference, your sales reference, product type and photos. If references differ, ask the manufacturer to explain the relationship. A catalogue name alone may not identify the item described in a report.
Check the report before relying on it
The published SASO service requirements call for a report from a registered, accepted laboratory, issued no more than three years before application and using the test pressures specified in the regulation. These checks do not, by themselves, guarantee acceptance.
- Match the report’s model and sample description to the product you will supply.
- Check the laboratory, report number, issue date and full page set.
- Locate the test method, conditions and results rather than relying on the cover page.
- Record any model differences or unexplained changes for technical review.
Keep supporting documents with the report
The service also lists commercial registration, a supplier declaration, product photographs and marking information, plus evidence of an effective factory quality-management system or a valid ISO 9001 certificate.
Keep these in the same model folder. Use a document index with filenames, dates and the person responsible for each item. Before submission, compare the spelling of model numbers and the manufacturer’s details across the file.
Example: similar mixers with different components
Illustrative example: two mixer models look similar, but the supplier says they use different flow-control components. A report identifies only one model. Record the component difference and ask the laboratory or reviewing body whether the evidence can cover both.
Do not copy a performance result or label rating from one model to another merely because the photographs look alike. Resolve coverage before planning labels or delivery dates.
Send a file that makes the next step clear
For an initial enquiry, send the model register, complete reports, product photos and available supporting records. State what is missing and the planned shipment timing. This helps distinguish document work from any further testing.
GoCertify can help review readiness and follow up the label application. The authority decides whether the evidence satisfies the applicable requirements. Confirm the permitted product and label details before use.
