Request your Congo CoCRegulated, exempt or restricted: check before shipping
A product-category name is not an HS-code ruling. Decide the PCEC status and the permission to import separately. An exemption from PCEC is not permission to import prohibited goods or to skip other authorities’ requirements.
| Situation | What it means | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Regulated consignment | Follow the relevant PCEC assessment and obtain the required shipment CoC before dispatch. | Product identification, applicable requirements, route and separate approvals. |
| Possible PCEC exemption | Published guidance includes certain personal effects, commercial samples and specified fresh/chilled products, with conditions. | The exact goods, purpose, supporting evidence and current exemption rules. Do not apply an example to an entire category. |
| Low-value import | The published list includes complete imports below XAF 1,000,000 FOB (strictly below, not equal to the threshold). | The whole import’s FOB valuation, currency conversion and eligibility with the body; do not treat individual invoice lines as separate exemptions. |
| Prohibited or restricted product | Published lists flag certain plastic bags/films, dangerous war-related toys, specified animal-origin foods and hazardous chemicals. Conditions and exceptions need checking. | The exact material, formulation, intended use and current legal notice with the competent authority before purchase or dispatch. A CoC cannot override a prohibition. |
This is an illustrative screening guide, not a complete exemption or prohibition schedule. Confirm current restrictions and exemption eligibility with the authorized body and competent authority before booking freight. Retain the evidence supporting any exemption.
