THE SERVICE
Saudi Quality Mark requirements: product and factory readiness
The Saudi Quality Mark (SQM), also known as the SASO Quality Mark, is a product licensing scheme supported by manufacturing quality controls. The applicable standards and product-specific granting procedure define the assessment.
Some product categories require the mark; other eligible products may apply voluntarily. We review the proposed product range and production sites before defining the application scope. A general ISO management-system certificate does not itself authorise use of the Saudi Quality Mark.
Who this service is for
- Manufacturers whose products fall within mandatory Quality Mark categories.
- Factories seeking the mark voluntarily for eligible products.
- Businesses preparing a new application, renewal or change to an existing license scope.
OUR ROLE
How GoCertify helps.
- Review the proposed products, production sites and application scope.
- Organise test evidence and factory quality-system documentation.
- Help prepare for the required assessment and coordinate responses to findings.
- Follow up on the licensing process and discuss ongoing documentation needs.
GETTING PREPARED
Prepare your SQM product file and factory records
These are useful starting points. We confirm the final document list for your product and application.
- Applicant registration, manufacturing licences and details of each proposed production site.
- Product list, models, brand names, specifications and available test reports.
- Factory location, organisation chart and a description of production processes.
- Quality manual or management-system documents, quality-control plans and inspection records.
- Existing certificates, current Quality Mark licence if applicable, and proposed product labels.
YOUR NEXT STEPS
A clear path forward.
Confirm the product and licence scope
Send the product list and factory locations. We review mandatory or voluntary eligibility and identify the evidence needed for the proposed scope.
Prepare the factory assessment file
Bring product tests and quality-control records together. We help identify gaps and organise responses for the required assessment; GoCertify does not make the certification decision.
Follow the licensing review
Coordinate replies to assessment findings and track outstanding documents. After a licence is granted, review its scope and the applicable follow-up obligations before using the mark.
COMMON QUESTIONS
A little more clarity.
Is the Saudi Quality Mark mandatory for every product?
No. Specified categories require it; other eligible products may apply voluntarily. We review the category and current scheme requirements with you.
Does the application involve the factory?
Yes. The scheme considers manufacturing quality controls as well as the product. We help organize the evidence and prepare for the applicable factory assessment.
Who grants permission to use the mark?
SASO grants the license. GoCertify supports preparation and follow-up; use of the mark must stay within the approved license scope.
Does ISO 9001 certification replace a Saudi Quality Mark licence?
No. An existing management-system certificate can be useful background for the file, but the SQM application also concerns the specified products and the scheme’s assessment requirements. Send the certificate and its scope with your product information for review.
What should I send for a Saudi Quality Mark quotation?
Send the product catalogue, model and brand list, factory locations, available test reports and a summary of your quality system. Tell us whether this is a new application, renewal or scope change so we can define the support required.
What affects SQM application cost and timing?
The product range, production sites, testing needs and assessment findings affect the work involved. The quotation should distinguish application support from assessment, testing and other third-party charges. We review readiness before discussing a schedule; approval dates cannot be guaranteed.
Practical guides for your application
